Therapeutic Indication
- Serious and difficult to treat community acquired infections including meningitis, Pneumonia and non-responsive acute otitis media.
- Strong activity against Pneumonia.
- Effective in the treatment of invasive Pneumococcal infection, including those with reduced beta-lactam susceptibility.
Side Effects
May include the following:
- Chest pain
- Cough
- Fever
- Black tarry stools
- Shortness of breath
- Unusual tiredness or weakness
- Less common Diarrhea
Rare Side effects includes but not limited to the following:
- Abdominal or stomach cramps or tenderness
- Bloating
- Bleeding gums
- Unusual weight loss
- Yellowish eyes or skin
- Loss of appetite
